They are the newest variety to be released by the USDA public breeding program. Vista is the result of a 2006 open pollinated cross by Dr. John Henning between the tetrapolid Perle female and an unknown diploid male. Brewers who participated in the blind smell tests described Vista as having Stone Fruit, Citrus, Tropical Fruit, and Floral characteristics.
